Western Connecticut Open

Again from Ed...

The Bethel Chess Club is hosting the Western Connecticut Open next Sunday, February 8th. This tournament is an open, four round swiss system event, with a time control of G/40 + 5 second time delay. The entry fee is $30 for advance entries, and $35 on site. The prizes (based on a projection of 20 entries) are $200 for first, $120 for second, and $80 for the top U1600 player. The tournament will take place in the General Purpose Room in the Municipal Center on School Street -- the same building in which we normally meet. On-site registration will take place from 9 to 9:50 am, with the first round beginning at 10 am. We've already received several advance entries, so I'm expecting a strong turnout for what should become an annual event here in Bethel.

Ed and I are the joint promoters/directors of this one.
