Western Connecticut Open Results

A report from Ed Scimia :

Eighteen players attended the Western Connecticut Open, hosted by the Bethel Chess Club. After four rounds of fierce competition, Alex Eydelman and Hanon Russell emerged as co-winners, each scoring 3.5 points. Both won $153 for their efforts. David Herscovici finished 3rd, with 3 points. The tournament was directed by Ed Scimia and Randy Shane.
With 2.5 points, Nikita Lakomkin emerged as the top finished under 1600, and took home a $75 prize. The complete crosstable can be found here: http://www.uschess.org/msa/XtblMain.php?200902082311-12623151
I'd like to thank everyone for attending! We plan on hosting more events in the same location soon. I hope everyone had a great time, and will come back for our next tournament!
